Don't eat here! – What an experience!!! Have you ever eaten a warm salad? Their salad was warm and it was not the plate. It was not a just washed plate - it was the greens and other ingredients that were warm..... so much so, that I didn't eat it. Then the sirloin steak (at $19.00), was between 1/2" & 3/4" thick and after I cut off all the fat and moved it beside what was left, it was more than half my steak! I ate the edible part and when the hostess asked if everything was ok, I told about the meal. She offered me a "new" steak but I didn't want to chance it so I declined. The manager took $6.00 off our bill to compensate! ARE THEY KIDDING? What a way to apologize to customers and get them to come back. Never again!
if i had 4 thumbs i'd give it 4 thumbs down – everyone who gives this place a good review is either a recluse that's never eaten out or has been paid to write a good review. All the food was mediocre at best....The atmosphere reminded me of an episode of the twilight zone and had a basement -funeral parlor-esque feeling. I don't know what was dated more, the music, the furniture/decor, or the hostess. I was very dissappointed in my ribs....they must be getting discounts on sickly pork. Also, they gave me all of 20 small pieces of sweet potatoe fries. I felt like throwing up my food so i could go eat somewhere else or vandelizing the building....I feel J. Edwards stole an hour of my life and ruined my Sunday evening. Of all the places going under in this recession why can't it be J. Edwards.....I gues one can dream.
A must at the BEACH – This place has the best service you can ask for....and the food from ribs to prime (rare) to steaks, cooked and prepared wonderful. I would say the best in Myrtle beach. A great place to have a nice dinner. 3:30 to close.
TERRIBLE Customer Service – This was my 3rd time going to J Edwards for dinner. This time I brought a friend whom has never eaten here before. At first I was excited to introduce him to this restaurant given my previous experiences there. However, our experience ended up being a big disaster. We were promptly seated in the front section of the restaurant and our waitor arrived quickly to take our drink orders. Several minutes later he returned with our water. We then ordered our entrees. I ordered a side salad along with my entree. About 15 minutes passed with no sign of our waitor. Apparently he had other table far from us, at the back of the restaurant. The salad finally arrived and he made no mention of being sorry for the wait. He disappeared again, this time for about 20 minutes. I had long finished my salad and our waters were empty. I could see him running around in the back, not once coming to our table. In the meantime, the table next to us had their server (a different one) come to their table several times. They ordered their dinner after us, yet somehow finished theirs before our's even arrived. I could understand the delay if I had ordered something exotic, however, all that I ordered was chicken and rice. Our waitor never returned. At this point I was fed up. I went to speak to the manager/owner, both of which were sitting at the bar chatting with each other. I politely asked them if I could pay for the salad and then leave as we had had terrible service. The owner got agitated and upset. Not at the server, but at me. He questioned my explanation and reasoning for wanting to leave. It is one thing when a server give you an attitude, but when an owner does it is insulting to say the least. The manager/owner never apologized, never offered for the dinner to be comped. He simply said "have at it" motioning us towards the exit and added "if you would like to try us again that would be fine." I replied, "I don't think that will happen."
J Edwards – Great food and really outstanding service. We would definitely return to this restaurant and recommend it to others!
