Best Banana Pecan Pancakes.
The The Golden Egg Pancake House serves breakfast and lunch. Right on Highway 17 in Surfside Beach they are easy to find. Pull into the parking lot, which seems to have plenty of parking.
My family and I visited the Golden Egg for a Saturday breakfast around 10:00 am. The service was very quick and friendly. We were seated as soon as we walked in the door, and they seemed to know when to ask if 'we were ready to order'.
If you are looking for variety at breakfast, they have some unique breakfasts. Similar to an I-hop or other pancake house, their menu seems complete. We had our coffee and milks quickly and were ready to order.
The entre that stood out for me was one of their signature breakfasts, the Pancakes with Pecans and Bananas. I have seen that on the menu at other places since that, and tried it elsewhere too, but The Golden Egg just seemed to do it the best. The pancakes were light and fluffy, with enough pecans and bananas to go with every bite.
This is not an upscale restaurant, but if you are looking for something just a bit different for breakfast, you can be sure that the Chicken Crossed the Road to get to the Golden Egg. The bacon was great too, and the prices were low. Enjoy.
