Shame: Villa Romana makes black family feel unwelcome. my wife and I and our two kids (9 and 7) entered the restaurant hoping for a good meal. We stood at the entrance right in front of the greeter who was standing there with the manager. neither one cared to look at us let alone greet us. this went on for an embarassing couple of minutes, no eye contact, no recognition whatsoever that we were standing there less than 3 feet from them. a white family came behind us and immediately was greeted (the young woman cooly went around us) and asked if they had a reservation. when we protested mildly the manager explained that they were taking care of "our reservations". not sure if there was a sign on my forehead saying "this guy has no reservation" but I was never asked that question. So, humiliated, we decided to leave, the manager at that point offered that if we wanted we could wait for "uh...45 mns to an hour if someone cancelled their reservation". i have experienced this kind of treatment in lesser rated restaurants but never expected to see it at Villa Romana. Shame on you Villa Romana, shame on you.
Fabulous. Wow! A great value for the money. The food is amazing from start to finish. Friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended.
Best Restaurant in Myrtle Beach. The restaurant is unassuming from the outside, but is actually a hidden gem. The inside is very nicely decorated and the food is FABULOUS! Some of the best meals I have ever had (and that includes Europe) have been at this restaurant. It is family-owned and you may even get a little "sit down" with one of the owner brothers. It is also a great value for the money. You will NOT leave hungry. I will always make sure to eat here whenever I'm in Myrtle Beach and even now am tempted to schedule a trip just so I can visit the Villa Romana again!
Excellent as usual!. We love Villa Romana. We make it a point to eat there 1-2 times per year when we are in Myrtle. Food is fantastic and can't wait to get back there again. Waitstaff is friendly, accomodating and excellent. Robert is the man! Keep up the great work!
Best Italian Food at the Beach. It is by far the best Italian food at the Beach. The food is outstanding and the service is great. You feel like family when visiting this restaurant and what an enjoyable dining experience. You do not want to miss out on the Restaurant. What one word can describe Villa Romana is WOW!!!
Best Italian Restaurant in Myrtle Beach SC.
We have been to Villa Romana twice in the past six months and each time the experience has been outstanding!! The food is excellent as is the decor and ambiance. The service on both occasions has been wonderful - what's not to like!!! This is a wonderful place for a romantic evening out, but it is also kid friendly for those of us that travel with children or grandchildren.
This is a definite must go for us whenever we are in Myrtle Beach..
Best around, can't be beat!. We love Villa Romana, and make it a point to eat there everytime we are in Myrtle Beach. The food is excellent and the service is wonderful. The staff treats everyone like family, we are never disappointed.
Best Italian at the beach. Great food, service, entertainment, and atmosphere. That's coming form a true New Yorker!.
Born and raised on Long Island with a mom who cooked true Italian, a close friend and myself took a recommendation to try out the Villa Romana. We can not say enough about this place. Service was fantastic. The atmosphere was great as well as the live entertainment. The owner came out to visit several times which made us feel right at home. As far as the food, what can I say. The portions were more than anyone would be expected to eat. After having bruschetta, soup, salad, bread, dipping sauce, and a side of pasta I was barely able to fit another thing. We did save room for dessert. It was definately worth our drive from the south end of town. If you have not been to the Villa do yourself a favor try it out.

Nice ambience, good food, but mediocre service. We spent a pre-Valentine's evening there. Cozy & warm atmosphere, the Italian-American loaded style with columns, fountains, and large plants. We enjoyed the food: had Veal Absolute and Scaloppine Al Marsala - well balanced tastes, resonable portions. But, we did not appreciate the fact that the server did not explain the side options clearly, between those included and those that cost extra. I ordered a side of gnocchi with olive oil & garlic sause. It is not about the few extra bucks, but the attitude of getting out of the customer more to increase the amount of the bill. The check included an extra $3.00 for the gniocchi & $1.75 for the sauce of olive and garlic... So, make sure you ask your server the price for each item before ordering. Also, the policy of the restaurant is to include automatically a 15% gratuity on each check.
